Story in 60 Seconds
The short version
During the first outbreak, Don abandons his wife Alice while fleeing infected attackers. Twenty-eight weeks later, NATO begins repopulating a protected London district, and Don reunites with children Tammy and Andy. The children leave the zone and discover Alice alive in their old home. She carries the virus without symptoms. Don enters her isolation room, kisses her, becomes infected, and kills her. The outbreak spreads through the district. Medical officer Scarlet and sniper Doyle try to protect Tammy and Andy after learning that their inherited resistance may help produce a treatment.
