Story in 60 Seconds
The short version
Henry DeTamble cannot control when he travels through time. Clare Abshire recognizes him at their first meeting from his perspective because an older Henry has already visited her childhood. They marry, but his disappearances interrupt ordinary life and make pregnancy dangerous. Their daughter Alba inherits his ability and tells Henry that he will die while she is young. Knowing the future does not give him the power to avoid it. The romance follows two people trying to share a life they experience in different orders.
